During a Thread Lift Procedure What Happens?

First you will need to consult with your surgeon, and see if you are a suitable candidate. It also important for you to check previous of patients, and their pictures, to have a clear vision of how experienced your surgeon is, so that you feel confident.

The surgeon will go through your medical history and give you a consent form to sign, to make sure that you have fully understood the possible risks and complications of the procedure. After the examination, the surgeon would discuss with you what type of thread lift procedure would be good for you.

This procedure is done to lift and support:

  • Asymmetric eyebrows
  • Sagging eyebrows
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Sagging cheeks
  • The mid and lower face and neck

This thread-lift procedure is normally done by local anaesthesia, or a light sedation depending upon the extent of the thread-lift surgery, and your personal preference . The operation would take about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of threads to be used.

These threads are inserted, via a very small incision behind the hairline, so that there are no visible scars The surgeon after making an incision, uses a thick, hollow needle to insert the thread under the facial skin, starting near the cheekbone, the other end of the thread is then tied to deeper internal facial structures. The thread is then gently tugged and pulled upwards, tightening the loose skin and also the underlying tissues. The barbs, on the thread lock into place upon insertion, and the ends are then sutured beneath the skin surface.

The threads are invisible, and hide under the skin to provide structure and support. The body then generates its own collagen to maintain the lifting effect.

The effect can be seen immediately, after the thread-lift procedure.
